We love Baptisms (also called Christenings)!
We usually have baptisms as part of our main Sunday service at 10.30am as we welcome the person being baptised into the family of the church. It’s important for the church family to be part of the church’s promises and welcome.
Baptism for babies and children takes place in a service where parents give thanks for the gift of life and make a decision to start their child on a journey of faith and where godparents promise help and support. The church also promises to welcome the child and to pray for the family.
For your child, being baptised at a Christening marks the start of a lifelong journey and being part of an amazing family that is the church. If you'd like to be baptised, please get in touch. We ask that everyone comes to a preparation morning before we put a date in the dairy for the Christening Service. We have a number of preparation mornings across the year.
For older children and adults, we have a slightly different wording to the baptism service as those being baptised make the promises for themselves. You are never too young or too old to be baptised.
